In the city of Chicago the Mayor has hued to a standard line when she is challenged on her response to crime and specifically the shootings: Gun Control. Chicago, like many major cities has a the toughest gun control laws in the country. And yet when it comes to enforcing many gun laws, specifically possession of guns by felons, the county prosecutor and the judiciary routinely offer up light sentences, no sentences or no bail to these offenders. When you later read news reports of shootings and murders nine times out of ten they perpetrator has a prior record of gun offenses.
